New Life Pregnancy Center (NLPC) is one of the community's greatest assets. People from all walks of life have come to appreciate the outstanding work of NLPC in the community.

Decatur Crisis Pregnancy Center opened its doors in August 1986 at 151 E. Decatur Street.

In 1988, Decatur Crisis Pregnancy Center changed its name to New Life Pregnancy Center to reflect not only the new life in the form of an unborn child, but the also potential "New Life" awaiting those touched by the Word of God. Shortly thereafter, New Life Pregnancy Center relocated to 240 W. Main Street.

In 1989 New Life Pregnancy Center began a new program called P.A.C.E. (Post Abortion Counseling & Education), a Bible study designed to minister to individuals who had already experienced abortions.

Several years later, in 1993, NLPC became the sponsor of an abstinence education program, Sex Esteem, presented in the area junior & senior high schools.

By 1996, it had become obvious that the Main St. facility could no longer meet the community's demand for services.

After much prayer and consideration, a new building was purchased. NLPC officially moved into their new facility located at 1698 E. Pershing Road on October 30, 1998.

NLPC began offering medical services in August 1999, consisting of bimanual exams and confirmation of pregnancy by ultrasound. These services are provided by a volunteer staff of doctors, an ultrasound technician and a nurse.
